Last week I looked at a brass material for a project I'm working on, and through the references I got, I could not tell the difference between brass and gold, except by context! I must not know them very well, but I was really surprised. I even ask some other people if they could and still they were as perplexed as I was.
What I did find out is that brass is sometimes a more pale yellow than gold is. Gold can often be an almost orange-y color. Not completely, but you get the point. So anyway, this material was one that GOD helped me put together and should do what I want it to do for the project, but I really feel like HE wants me to share this material with you. Be aware, this is for Blender Render and is a basic shader with a few procedural textures on it - don't expect it to just fit your stuff - be ready to adjust it. :D.
As always, 100% at your own risk. You take full responsibility for anything and everything you do with this material (and that means the blend file and everything contained in it). I am not responsible for your choices. I have virus protection on my PC and to the best of my knowledge, it's virus free, but as a precaution, always scan devices and files before you use them - even when you trust the source. Again, 100% at your own risk.

It took about a day's sporadic work to get it like this, but if GOD didn't help me, it would still look like yellow plastic, hahaha.
Have a great one and GOD bless!!
