About Me

Marius Oberholster Hey! I'm having an incredible learning experience, not only learning how Blender works (yes, still learning), but also about Open-Source and the incredible software available. Stick around!

Bricks are getting older, yey!

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Thursday, October 25, 2012
Hey everyone!

I had gotten quite a bit done today. I added some dust and extra roughness to the scene. While there is still a lot to do and the tutorial is getting lengthy (due to everything needed), it will be worth it once finished.

Today I focused on getting some roughness on the bricks, particularly the tiny roughness you find on ruins due to erosion. While I didn't get enough detail, I did get the roughness required and here is the scene as it is now:

This is a close-up to show the roughness:

There is still a big amount of work to put in to make it look as old as I want it to look (old enough to fit the ivy look), but I am really enjoying this project. Hope you are looking forward to trying this one yourself.

As usual, only procedural textures were used for this image (and none were harmed, lol).

Thank YOU!!!!!!!!

"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."
