Business Warrior landscape!

Hey everyone!

I'm here with some updates on the last post of the Business Warrior project!

I've struggled working on a cloud method HE revealed to me a while back, because it's a very unpredictable way of cloud making, but if you get it right, it can look pretty amazing imo (in my opinion).

Now, before we can start working on the character, we need a place for him to be. So, we need a landscape to fill the background and in this case also foreground. To create or model landscapes is no easy feat on Blender if you wanna have it it in a traditional way, because your heights would have to be taken from your renders (displacement textures). But in the later versions there is a landscape generator that makes making mountains a bit easier. Texturing them right will give a more realistic approach, but realism is not the focus here, because it would be too much for my PC to bear.

So I threw together a few landscapes generated and of course following HIS guidance on where and how to rotate. Also added some clouds using the sphere option in the landscape generator and added the water using a very low displacement landscape; this was the first result after compositing:

As you can see, the clouds have a beautiful yellow, but they don't match the reflection color on the water. This is because in the nodes I had to up the brightness of the clouds for them not to appear all blackish and dark. Because I want accuracy in my work, this just will not stand and though some things HE showed me it's the reflective value of  my clouds that are the problem. They are not shiny enough, so I upped it and this was a result:

(also added some more mountain terrain in the background)

This one is however the way I wanted it to turn out, in the water as well as the clouds:

Well, that's it for this update, if you are curious  as to how to make these clouds, let me know and I just may make a tutorial on this! You can use the contact page or comment on the thread at BlenderArtists.org.
