About Me

Marius Oberholster Hey! I'm having an incredible learning experience, not only learning how Blender works (yes, still learning), but also about Open-Source and the incredible software available. Stick around!

File could not be loaded

Posted by Marius Oberholster on Friday, August 28, 2015 Under: Tips
Hey all!

No, it was not failure on my part to load a file here, haha. No, this is much much worse [not really]. Blender sometimes has trouble loading audio and video files into the VSE. This is not always a reflections on format, as I was shown today. I believe GOD wanted me to share this solution immediately, so check it out!

I'm working on a small project (relatively small) and it requires sound baking as well as importing sound and Blender just kept saying the file could not be loaded. And this was the solution GOD gave me > Move the file.

If you're like me, you sometimes use very long file names and Blender hates that. For some reason it seems to have a limitation on file name length and if something exceeds that, then it says that the file could not be loaded. I'm guessing at that, I don't know for sure.
In order to remedy this, simply move your files very close together for relative paths and use shorter file names when creating assets for the project. It should help you avoid this problem in the future (it applies to saving as well).

Hope this helps!!

Have a great one and GOD bless!!

Thank YOU!!!!!
