Hey all!
A very much requested material (not requested from me, but definitely requested a lot) is a glossy black. And here is how you can make it in Blender Render as well as Cycles Render.
On Cycles Render, it is the easiest thing! Just add a new material to an object or area you want a glossy black and apply this to it:
(Thanx to Bizla from BA and other people who suggested the Mix node)
Blender Render is a bit more complex, since it is not as physically accurate as Cycles. So, I want you to create a pitch black diffuse material (like in the node set-up below). And, I want you to make another material; a perfectly shiny chrome, but slightly grey and it has to have a black diffuse color. Then, remove both these materials from the object's list and add a new one called Glossy Black and make sure it's ticked to use nodes.
From the input category, add the black diffuse and chrome materials and set up the following. It will give you a fantastic material that works in practically any area (at least all I've tested, see below for examples).
(HUGE thank YOU to GOD for showing me how to do this one!!)
