About Me

Marius Oberholster Hey! I'm having an incredible learning experience, not only learning how Blender works (yes, still learning), but also about Open-Source and the incredible software available. Stick around!

Old renders are ready-to-use material

Hey all!

Feels like forever since the last post, but it seems that I'm only going to be able to do weekly posts for a while. Long story, but, for today, I would like to share a secret with you. A very very big one that the lecturers go on about when you study design.

That secret is: The more work you finish, the more work you have to fall back on for later projects; a library of free material if you will.

For example, you all know I've done a series of images based on the 4 seasons by Vivaldi. Now, they look like this. And, I've recently done some other design work that is still not up for reveal, but, it has already proven useful. Now, also recently, I needed to make some coins and guess what I used for the back and the front; you guessed it, older renders and result is this:

(for a video project)

So while it may seem trivial not to finish and easy to procrastinate, it really knocks you in the long run. Finishing work is very very very important for developing now and having a much bigger library later on. Do what the Bible says: it's not fun to go through discipline all the time, but later on it is very much worth it. The exact verse reads:
"Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby." Hebrews 12:11, KJV

Old renders and projects are a huge help so make sure you have some :D

Have an incredible day!! :D

Thank YOU!!!!!!
