Hey there everyone!
Today's post is one kind I have not been able to do for a while! So very excited!
Yesterday, a friend and I was talking about doing crumpled paper. Now, I was thinking he was talking about those balls of paper you make when you try to form an idea, then you don't like it, so you tear it off, crumple it and put it aside. But, he meant like paper that was crumpled then folded open again. Haha, anyway, so I said I would try it (before the misunderstanding was cleared up) and this was the resulting work progress:
On this first one, the focus was getting some paper balls and getting the lines texture right for the pad
Finishing the texturing for the pad and the paper balls and adding in a pen and a table (seemed rather pointless without either, haha)
For this one, I wanted a much more subdued look and this final, semi dark one, suggests to me that whoever was working here, took a break over night to come back the next morning to try again.
In the background, I used extremely simple methods to suggest books. But, I'll leave it open to interpretation, as it doesn't really scream books. As an after thought, I realized that as the focus draws into the crumpled paper ball, that the detail gets progressively more, so on that, you could argue that both camera focus and object detail formed the focus.
Whichever way you put it, I am very happy with this image, it's all procedural textures and I hope you like it too!
Have a great one!
Thank YOU!!!!
