About Me

Marius Oberholster Hey! I'm having an incredible learning experience, not only learning how Blender works (yes, still learning), but also about Open-Source and the incredible software available. Stick around!

Some news

Hey all!

On the post today:
> New competition - What really happened
> New images
> A brilliant tutorial
> Blender news in one place on Facebook
> The panther dynamics facebook page and portfolio blog

> New Competitions are sometimes exciting and sometimes they can really take you by surprise. I was very surprised by Andrew's latest competition on his site, Blender Guru, and the theme is: What really happened. At first you're thrown for a loop and you think: "Wha'?!", but this actually has some very interesting ideas. Unfortunately, I can't enter this one, but if GOD gives you a brilliant idea, go for it!
Check out the competition rules, prices and submission link here

> Recently, I had the privilege of making some more images for our facebook ministry page for Cross Allegiance. What a pleasure! I've had a great interest in toon shading for a bit and I'm really using the opportunity to learn more about it while working on more verse images (GOD's idea and a brilliant one at that!). You can see these new toon shaded images on the 3DWorks section on the portfolio site, here, and you can subscribe to the Cross Allegiance page for them and other encouraging content!
Here's an example of one:

> I prefer the Gimp as my image editor of choice. I know it doesn't have all the features that some are used to, but, it is still spectacular. There is a feature in there that I was not away of and when I saw it, I just had to share it immediately and I hope you enjoy it as well. Have you ever had a texture that did not work well for your scene, because it wasn't seamless? Well then this feature is for you! It shows you a very very simple step to making a texture seamless:

Granted, it's not perfect, but the approach is so simple, it is really quite surprising.

> On Facebook you can make lists for interests and others can follow your lists if they also have interest in that same topic. A while back, I made a list on Facebook about Blender News and Tutorials and if you want to keep up to speed with Blender news, then check out the list and follow if it looks good to you, which I'm sure it will!
You can follow the list here (it does not show in your newsfeed, rest easy, but shows up on the left and lets you know when there is something there, like messages).

> You can also like the Panther Dynamics facebook page if you haven't already and even cooler is that you can find the panther dynamics posts in the FB list above. There you will also be kept up to speed on the portfolio blog, found here.
For example, there is a new post today about creating a sun glare and a lot of other pieces covering existing works and how they were done. Check it out :D.

Thank you for sticking out this post and I hope you have a brilliant day!!

Thank YOU!!!!
