About Me

Marius Oberholster Hey! I'm having an incredible learning experience, not only learning how Blender works (yes, still learning), but also about Open-Source and the incredible software available. Stick around!

The main animation has finished!

Hey all!

Firstly, let me say that there is a new Blender Guru competition running this month; Christmas!! This marks a solid year of Blender Guru entries for me! So cool!! Already have a concept, but for those of you interested in participating this year, check it out!

Back to business though. Originally, I rendered the animation without having added a misty effect that you find underwater; the further you look, the more solid blue it becomes, so that needed to be added. It looks like the fish are flying through the air without it, haha. It also needed some extra post processing, so here is a before and after:

AFTER:

Quite a difference I must say (^^,)! If you want to see the video in action, you can find it here and you can find ogg support here. Even in Windows 8 this works beautifully with Media Player, so go nuts (^^,)!
As always, ogg comes with no guarantee, so use at own risk.

This is only a proof of concept and was kept fairly simple. If done in full, there would be grass, rocks, other fish, particles, etc. This was rendered using Cycles and each frame took about a minute to 3, depending on the amount of blurring it had to do (Cycles' motion blur, so far only available in test builds of 2.65).

Hope you enjoyed this project!

Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!
